Three-person exhibition

After a sudden life change in mid-April, I found myself relocating to live and paint in my childhood bedroom. My reflection on my situation and my grief for my previous life crystallized into a body of work that ponders how to rebuild my identity as an individual and an adult in the places where I formed my earliest memories.

I focus on the role that identifying with images on the screen has had in the reconstitution of my identity in this period of transformation. I look at images and symbols from movies and TV, as well as my changed surroundings, and consider the specific imagery that returns to me again and again as I process my grief and structure my new life.
